NECP is a private equity investment firm focused on acquiring lower middle-market operating companies. NECP is a successor to and affiliate of New England Capital Management, which has been successfully acquiring and growing small businesses since 1991.

NECP is interested in acquiring companies with annual sales in the $3 to $30 million range, at transaction prices upward to $30 million. Manufacturing, Distribution and Service industries located in the Northeast are preferred, but other locations and industries will be considered.

We enjoy assisting experienced and entrepreneurial owners in realizing their transitional goals. Depending on the desires of an owner, we will either provide partial liquidity and supplement current management or purchase companies outright and bring new management to the company.

The principals of NECP are Kevin McCafferty and Bob Winneg. Mr. McCafferty has been in the private equity business since 1977. He is co-founder and Chairman of New England Capital Management. Previously he was a Partner in Madison Dearborn Partners. Mr. Winneg has been a private equity investor since 1990. Prior to NECP he was a partner at Heritage Partners, investing principally in family owned businesses. He has successfully completed numerous transactions, financings, and strategic initiatives.
